About Me

I began my investment industry career in 2017 and joined Stifel in 2021.  Prior to joining the investment industry, I served as a law enforcement officer in Traverse City from 2001 to 2017.  My roles included patrol officer, undercover narcotics officer, community police officer, hostage negotiator, patrol sergeant, and patrol captain.

These positions taught me how to be an active listener, helping me to truly understand how my clients are feeling.  I’ve become accustomed to working under pressure while removing any emotion from the situation – an important factor when investing.  I learned to thrive within the unexpected, as every day presented its own challenges and the opportunity to overcome them.  I have always had a drive to serve my community and help others, and that holds true for my job with Stifel.  My professional background gives me the knowledge to serve my clients and guide them calmly through market volatility to help them work toward their long-term financial goals.

I earned an Associate of Applied Science from Northwestern Michigan College and hold Series 7 and 66 securities licenses, as well as life, health, and variable insurance licenses (including annuities).

Passionate about giving back to the community, I am a member of the Home Builders Association of The Grand Traverse Area and the Traverse City Elks Lodge #323.  Additionally, I am a board member of Charlie Golf One, a 501c(3) non-profit group that is raising money to provide a community center and affordable housing opportunities for military veterans in transition from active duty to civilian life.  I also enjoy volunteering as a football coach for my children, having coached at Traverse City West Middle School and for the Traverse City Youth Football Pop Warner league.

My family is my world and my constant motivation to be the best I can be.  I am a father of five children and am married to my wife, Christina, who has two children of her own.  We are very blessed to have a large blended family.  Outside of the office, I support the children in everything they do, including sports and extracurricular activities.  They keep me very busy, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
